Trump’s Visit in India: CNN

US President Donald Trump concluded a two-day visit in India, receiving an impressive welcome but leaving the country without concrete announcements on trade or security. Despite the close friendship between Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the president said that disagreements on tariffs and deficits wouldn’t be resolved shortly. Hours before Trump landed in India, riots over Muslims’ status in India turned violent. Still Modi hosted a grand welcome ceremony and a rally with 100,000 expressing enthusiasm for Trump in the world’s largest cricket stadium. Modest agreements were announced on sales of military helicopters and other equipment to India. Trump offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue, but Modi rejected that offer. – YaleGlobal
